Mayfly

Scientific name- order Ephemeroptera
What they eat- feed on microscopic plant life while they are underwater nymphs, as they become adults, they don't live long enough to eat anything.
What/how they look- range in length form 1-3 cm, have two or three long tail filciments, transparent wings, short antennae, and bulging light-sensitive eyes
Environment- born underwater in banks of river and lakes, when they become adults they spend the rest of their life scimming above the water
Uses (humans etc.)- Humans use mayflies for fishing, they are a major source of food for freshwater fish, such as trout.
